One of the greatest ways to get to know a new area is by enjoying some of the local cuisine. Savannah is known for its twist on Southern fare and the restaurants here do not disappoint. In fact, my mouth still waters when I think about some of the meals I enjoyed while in the city!

Here is our guide for some of the best food in Savannah

The Coffee Fox

The Coffee Fox is a craft coffee shop serving locally roasted coffee. In addition to coffee, they serve lattes, horchata, hot cocoa, beers, and a variety of food items. You can also check out their sister shops: Foxy Loxy Cafe, Henny Penny Cafe, or Fox & Fig Cafe

Treylor Park is a unique restaurant offering New American cuisine mixed with a taste of Southern flare. It was a fun, casual restaurant with great service! Whether you go for brunch, lunch, or breakfast, you will not be disappointed.

The Ordinary Pub

I can’t say enough about the Ordinary Pub – from the food, the staff, and the drinks. I enjoyed a delicious Bloody Mary (still dreaming about it) and some bottomless mimosas. I must say that our waitress made sure that we never saw the bottom of our glasses! Outside of the drinks, the food was a refreshing twist on classic pub fare with fresh ingredients.

Savannah Seafood Shack

YUM, YUM, YUM! Featured on the Food Network, Cooking, and Travel Channels, the Seafood Shack, famous for their low country boil, is a can’t miss spot for seafood lovers. The restaurant is fast-casual so you order and pay at the counter and wait for a runner to bring your meal. The food is super flavorful and quite literally finger-licking good.

A must-stop for lunch! This restaurant boasts the epitome of southern comfort food and hospitality. With hours of operation limited to 11 am-2 pm, crowds line up around the block for a seat at one of their 10-person shared tables– so be sure to get there early! Once seated, dozens of platters carrying fried chicken, sweet potato soufflè, okra gumbo, and more are served family-style to guests. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss! Please note that Mrs. Wilkes is cash-only.

Husk Savannah

Although I did not have the pleasure of visiting Husk in Savannah, I did dine at their Charleston location and was extremely impressed. The restaurant does a great job of highlighting the unique ingredients found in Georgia and creating mouth watering food creations.
